### Our verdict

Carrd is the pick if you need a one-page bridge for paid traffic and you can pay yearly. Split tests and funnel steps belong on another builder.

### Can Carrd host the landing page an ad links to?

You heard Carrd is cheap enough to sit between an ad and an offer for a year. You want to know if the platform is legitimate, and whether you will regret sending paid traffic to it.

[Carrd's homepage](https://carrd.com/) describes it as a builder for simple, free, fully responsive one-page sites. The builder is legitimate, and you can publish on the free plan. Running paid ads requires more than a draft. Sending paid clicks requires your own domain, a tracking pixel, and your own copy. Those features are on Pro Standard, the middle paid tier. [See the Carrd plan table](#carrd-pricing) before you send traffic.

I would use it for one presell and nothing more. When the offer needs a second step, a checkout, or two versions of the same URL, switch builders.

### Carrd for affiliate marketing

The ad should open your Carrd address, not the vendor's page. That address holds your own argument, a disclosure, and one button. The button goes to the offer, which may be a vendor sales page or a hoplink. The [ClickBank section of the main roundup](/best) describes the same setup. Keep the offer link out of the ad, and put your page in front of the vendor page.

The free plan and Pro Lite are too limited for a serious ad destination. [Carrd's plan guide](https://carrd.com/docs/pro/plans) says Pro Lite is for accounts that do not use custom domains, forms or widgets. Pro Standard publishes to a domain you own, with SSL through Let's Encrypt, and adds forms, widgets, custom embeds that allow script tags, and analytics. A tracking pixel goes in that embed. The same tier includes widgets for Stripe, PayPal, Gumroad, Typeform and Facebook. A lead offer can use the form. A vendor offer uses the button. A second checkout step and an order bump require a different platform.

The content policy is what gets pages taken down. Carrd states it directly: "Carrd does not permit thin affiliate sites." The same [content policy](https://carrd.com/docs/general/content-policy) says sites identified as thin affiliate pages may be taken offline. A page whose only job is to pass a click through an affiliate link, with little of your own writing, is what that policy names. A presell with a real argument, a disclosure and one next step is a different page. Write it as if someone at Carrd will read it, because the policy says they can take it down.

Reddit Ads are a separate case, and the only source on this point is a comment. In a [Reddit for Business thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/RedditforBusiness/comments/106yo7e/are%5Fbridge%5Fpages%5Fallowed%5Fwith%5Freddit%5Fads/), a commenter wrote: "Ads with Bridge Pages are not allowed in Reddit". That sentence is one reply on a community thread. It is not a line from Reddit's help center. If you buy Reddit Ads, read that thread and Reddit's own ad rules before you launch.

### What a single Carrd site can hold

Every site this builder publishes is one page. The tagline says so. Scrolling sections and in-page jumps stay on that same address. There is no second URL for an upsell, a blog post or a checkout.

Split testing is another feature the plans leave out. The plan guide lists what each tier includes. Those lists cover domains, forms, widgets, embeds and analytics. A/B testing is missing from them, so two headlines cannot rotate under one ad URL. If you are comparing builders because you need a split test, read [the guide to split testing on one ad URL](/best/landing-page-split-testing).

The core builder is enough when you want to learn the editor. The homepage says you can build up to three sites and use the core features for free. Templates are responsive, so a phone click and a desktop click can share one layout. That matters for an ad. Learning the editor is separate from running a test.

### Carrd pricing

The four tiers below are the ones that matter for a presell. Paid plans renew yearly. The plan guide calls Pro Standard the most popular Pro plan. The [Pro page](https://carrd.com/pro) also lists higher site-count upgrades, up to 1,000 sites. This table stops at the four tiers a new account would start with. The Sites column shows how many separate offers you can publish. Each of those sites is still one page. Pro Plus is the tier for redirects, a password, site files and a canonical URL. A first presell does not need it.

| Plan | Sites | What a presell gets | Price |
| ------------ | ----- | ----------------------------------------------------------------- | ------ |
| Free | 3 | Core builder, responsive templates | $0 |
| Pro Lite | 3 | Premium Carrd address. No domain of your own, no forms or widgets | $9/yr |
| Pro Standard | 10 | Your domain with SSL, forms, widgets, script embeds, analytics | $19/yr |
| Pro Plus | 25 | Adds redirects, password, site files, canonical URL | $49/yr |

A Pro trial runs seven days. [Carrd's trial page](https://carrd.com/docs/pro/trial) says no payment or credit card is required, and the trial caps the page at 150 elements. Build the presell inside that cap, then decide if Pro Standard is the tier you need.

[Carrd's referral program](https://carrd.com/docs/account/referral-program) pays 30% on a referred user's next Pro upgrade or renewal, and each user can be referred once. That payment goes to the person who sent the signup. It does not change which tier a presell needs.

### What people who keep using it say

People who keep a site here talk about speed when the job is small. One post on r/howtobuildawebsite put it this way:

> "For what it is, Carrd is hard to beat. I use it for landing pages, referral sites, and quick launches where I don't need a full multi-page build." [Carrd review thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/howtobuildawebsite/comments/1s8fqm6/carrd%5Freview%5Fthe%5Fbest%5Fonepage%5Fwebsite%5Fbuilder%5Ffor/)

The affiliate thread is colder, and the warning is about search:

> "No if yoi bet on SEO. Cause onepage sites is not good for seo." [Can I use a Carrd website for affiliate marketing](https://www.reddit.com/r/Carrd/comments/1fz8xh7/can%5Fi%5Fuse%5Fa%5Fcarrd%5Fwesbite%5Ffor%5Faffiliate%5Fmarketing/)

The first comment is about publishing a page quickly. The second is about ranking in Google. This review is about paid traffic. If you want the URL to rank, believe the second comment and pick a host that can grow past one page.

### My take

Start the seven-day trial and write the presell before paying. Pay for Pro Standard only when the draft needs a domain you own and a place to paste a pixel. Ad spend belongs on that tier. Leave when the offer needs a checkout step or two headlines.

The limit that actually matters is the policy. A thin page can be removed. Original copy is the part you cannot skip. [See the Carrd plan table](#carrd-pricing) and match the tier to that draft before the ad goes live.

### Carrd alternatives

Stay when the job is one presell, your own domain, and a pixel. Leave when you need a funnel, a server-side test, or a page built for mobile ad speed. The [Carrd alternatives](/alternatives/carrd) page ranks those three builders.

Open the [Systeme.io review](/reviews/systeme-io) when the presell has to become a funnel with email and a checkout. It has a free plan, so the step up can start at zero. The funnel limits are in that review.

Open the [Leadpages review](/reviews/leadpages) when you need a server-side test and the plan does not meter visits. Carrd's plans do not include a split test.

Open the [Swipe Pages review](/reviews/swipe-pages) when most of the clicks come from phones. Its cheaper plan leaves out the same-URL test. The review names the plan that includes it.

The guide to [cheap landing page builders under $50 a month](/best/cheap-landing-page-builder) compares budgets. Every builder review sits in the [review index](/reviews). Rankings use vendor docs, pricing pages and public threads. [How we evaluate builders](/methodology) explains the method.

##### What works

* Paid plans renew once a year, so one presell does not become a monthly builder bill.
* The free plan lets you publish with the core builder without a credit card, which is enough to draft the page.
* The popular paid tier adds a domain you own, forms, widgets, script embeds and analytics. That is where the pixel and the button go.
* Templates are responsive, so the mobile view and the desktop view use the same layout.

##### What to watch

* Each site is a single page. There is no place for an upsell URL, a blog or a checkout step.
* Pro plans do not include A/B or split testing, so you cannot rotate two headlines on one ad URL.
* Thin affiliate sites are banned, and Carrd may take them offline. A page that is mostly a hoplink is what the policy is aimed at.
* People using it for affiliate work say a single page is a weak bet when the goal is ranking in Google.

#### What users actually say about Carrd

Research: unverified

##### Quick landing pages are ↑ frequently praised

Long-term users praise Carrd for landing pages, referral sites and quick launches when they do not need a multi-page build. One commenter stresses that the popular paid plan is billed per year, not per month.

##### Ranking one page in Google is a ↓ common complaint

In affiliate and SEO threads, commenters warn that a one-page Carrd site is a weak bet for organic rankings. A paid-traffic presell is a different job from ranking in Google.

##### Carrd can take a thin affiliate page offline

Carrd's content policy bans thin affiliate sites that lack original content and exist mainly to redirect through affiliate links. A presell needs real copy, a disclosure and context, or the site may be taken offline.

##### Reddit Ads comments on bridge pages

A Reddit for Business thread includes a comment that bridge-page ad flows are not allowed on Reddit Ads. Treat that line as community guidance, not as official policy text.

> “Ads with Bridge Pages are not allowed in Reddit”

### Frequently asked questions

Is Carrd enough for ClickBank paid traffic?

It can host the presell when the copy is yours and the tier includes a domain plus an embed. The main roundup walks the bridge steps. A page that only forwards the click is the kind the content policy removes.

Which plan does a bridge page need, free or paid?

Draft on the free plan. Publish the ad to the tier that adds your domain and the embed. The cheaper paid tier stays on a Carrd address and leaves those out.

Can a Carrd site rank in Google?

Affiliate commenters treat a single page as a weak organic bet. Use the URL as the place an ad clicks, and pick another host if rankings are the goal.

Does Carrd have A/B testing?

The published include-lists stop at domains, forms, widgets, embeds and analytics. When a test is why you would switch, the alternatives on this page name the builders that run one.

What happens if Carrd flags thin affiliate content?

The policy says those sites may be taken offline. Your own argument, a disclosure and one offer link are what separate a presell from a pass-through page.
