It takes no cut of your sales, so the base bill is flat no matter how much you sell, though contact and workspace caps push you up the tiers as your list grows. There is no separate hosting bill, because ClickFunnels hosts everything. FunnelKit is annual and much cheaper on paper. There is a genuine free Funnel Builder Lite on WordPress.org, then Basic is $99.50 for the first year for one site, Plus is $149.50 for two sites, Professional is $199.50 for three sites, and Elite is $299.50 for thirty. Two things to watch. The intro prices renew higher, and at full price: Basic renews around $129, Plus around $299, Professional around $399\. And the licence is not the whole cost. You also pay for your own WordPress hosting, a theme and page builder, and the time to keep all of it updated, since FunnelKit runs on a stack you host and maintain yourself. There is no time-limited trial; instead there is a 14-day money-back guarantee. There is a second catch in the FunnelKit tiers that matters more than the headline price, and it belongs in the next section. ### Checkout, upsells, and the marketing engine Both do the core of the same job: turn a plain product page into a funnel with an optimized checkout, order bumps and one-click post-purchase upsells. ClickFunnels calls its version Smart Checkout, and it does bumps and upsells while taking no transaction cut of your sales. FunnelKit layers the same pattern onto WooCommerce, so your checkout runs on whatever gateways your store already uses, Stripe, PayPal or others, and again takes no cut. Where FunnelKit is genuinely different from a plain checkout plugin is what sits beside the checkout. It is really two products fused: the funnel and checkout layer, and FunnelKit Automations, formerly Autonami, a marketing engine with email and SMS broadcasts, a visual automation builder, cart-abandonment recovery and a 360-degree contact profile that acts as a light CRM. That is more than a checkout plugin usually ships, and it is the main reason to prefer FunnelKit over a checkout-only competitor: an own-offer store can run the sale and the follow-up from one place. The catch is where that engine lives in the pricing. The email, SMS and CRM automation only appears on the Professional plan and up, at $199.50 for the first year. The cheaper Basic and Plus tiers are checkout and funnel only, so the feature that makes FunnelKit interesting is not in the two cheapest boxes. Budget for Professional if the automation is why you are choosing it. ClickFunnels, by contrast, bundles email, a CRM and courses into every plan from $97 a month, so a one-person business can run the offer, the follow-up and the delivery from one login without deciding which tier unlocks what. That is the trade of hosting against self-hosting: ClickFunnels gives you the whole stack on day one for a monthly fee, and FunnelKit gives you the same shape of stack on WordPress, cheaper over a year, if you buy the right tier and run the site yourself. ### The split-testing gap for paid traffic Neither tool does the one thing a paid-traffic buyer most wants from testing. ClickFunnels splits at the funnel-step level, and FunnelKit tests at the funnel-step level on your own WordPress pages: create variations of a step, split the traffic, and declare a winner. Both are useful for pitting one version of a page against another, and both can change the destination URL or the step when a variant changes. For paid traffic that is a hidden tax. When a test changes the URL a click lands on, Meta and Google can drop the campaign back into the learning phase and reset the optimisation you paid to build. If your margin is conversion rate minus click cost, the testing model matters more than the editor, and neither of these two protects ad learning the way same-URL server-side rotation does.
