## Carrd vs Leadpages

Quick answer

**Leadpages** is our top pick for most people. Pick Carrd if you need one presell page on a custom domain for $19 a year and you will judge that page in your ad account or analytics, not inside the builder. Pick Leadpages if you already buy clicks to it and need server-side A/B tests or dynamic text replacement with no visitor cap.

* **Carrd.** Best for a one-page bridge for paid traffic. Has a free tier.
* **Leadpages.** Best for uncapped traffic with server-side testing. From $99/mo.

### Side by side

__Feature comparison across 2 tools__
| Tool | Split testing | Checkout | Free trial | From |
| ------------ | ------------------------------------- | ------------- | --------------- | --------- |
| 1. Carrd | Not in the plan lists | Embed widgets | 7 days, no card | Free tier |
| 2. Leadpages | Server-side from Grow, no visitor cap | Basic | 7-day, card | $99/mo |

### Where each one wins

#### Carrd

##### What works

* Paid plans renew once a year, so one presell does not become a monthly builder bill.
* The free plan lets you publish with the core builder without a credit card, which is enough to draft the page.
* The popular paid tier adds a domain you own, forms, widgets, script embeds and analytics. That is where the pixel and the button go.
* Templates are responsive, so the mobile view and the desktop view use the same layout.

##### What to watch

* Each site is a single page. There is no place for an upsell URL, a blog or a checkout step.
* Pro plans do not include A/B or split testing, so you cannot rotate two headlines on one ad URL.
* Thin affiliate sites are banned, and Carrd may take them offline. The policy names a page that is little more than a hoplink.
* People using it for affiliate work say a single page is a weak bet when the goal is ranking in Google.

#### Leadpages

##### What works

* Grow is the first plan with server-side A/B testing. The server picks the variant before the page renders, so visitors do not see the original page flash first, and traffic is not capped or metered.
* Dynamic text replacement puts the ad keyword into the headline from a URL parameter. One page can then match several ad groups, and the AI builder can draft the version you test it against.

##### What to watch

* The Pro and Business plans let you publish pages. Split testing starts on Grow. Smart Traffic, heatmaps and tests with more than two variants are on Optimize.
* Ecommerce is basic, so selling your own offer with upsells means adding a separate checkout, and the 7-day trial asks for a card up front.

One sheet for a single presell, set beside a taller stack of pages.

### The ad still needs its own page

You are choosing between Carrd and Leadpages so the ad can point at your page instead of the raw offer link. [ClickBank's paid-traffic note](https://www.clickbank.com/blog/paid-traffic-for-affiliate-marketing/) says some affiliates have had ad accounts shut down after putting a hoplink directly in the ads. That note recommends a page of your own in front of the link, then a lead capture, then money made on the backend.

[Carrd's homepage](https://carrd.com/) describes one-page sites: a profile, a page that collects emails, or a simple launch. Leadpages is a page builder. Its lower plans publish the page, and Grow can swap the headline once people are clicking through. Open Leadpages if you need that swap. Open Carrd if the page can stay as you wrote it.

Carrd's homepage leads with one-page sites and a button to start.

Each Carrd site stays on one address. The button that sends someone on to the offer sits on that same page. An upsell URL, a blog, or a second checkout step needs a different builder.

Leadpages' homepage opens on the builder and a Start Free button.

### What the year costs, and what the month costs

A free Carrd account can publish up to three sites and use the core features. Pro Standard is $19 a year. [The Pro page](https://carrd.com/pro) includes ten sites on that tier, plus a domain you own, forms, widgets, embeds and analytics. The Pro trial runs seven days, with no payment and no card. The Pro list does not include a split test. [Leadpages' comparison with Carrd](https://leadpages.com/compare/leadpages-vs-carrd) says the same thing in one line: no testing at any price.

On [Leadpages' pricing page](https://www.leadpages.com/pricing), Business costs $33 a month when billed annually, and it includes fifty pages. The plan table marks manual A/B testing as not included on Pro or on Business. Grow costs $99 a month if you pay month to month, or $67 a month if you pay for the year. Manual testing and a headline filled from a URL parameter both start on Grow. The same page says there is no traffic cap and no overage fee.

[Leadpages' testing page](https://www.leadpages.com/product/ab-testing) says the variant is chosen on the server before the page renders. The trial collects a card at signup and charges on day seven unless you cancel. Business is the plan for a page you will publish and not test. Grow is the plan that can change the headline.

### What the landing page needs

A small rectangle, then the page, then the offer.

ClickBank's warning, linked above, is about the hoplink in the ad itself. Send the ad to a URL you control. On that page, write the argument, offer a way to capture the lead, and send the click onward only after that.

[Carrd's content policy](https://carrd.com/docs/general/content-policy) forbids sites that exist mainly to send people through affiliate links and carry little original writing. Those sites may be taken offline. A presell with a real argument is a different page from a button that only forwards the click. Write the page as if someone at Carrd will read it, because the policy says they can remove it.

If you will read the result in the ad account, Pro Standard includes the domain, a script embed and analytics. A split test is not part of that tier. If the ads are already live and each ad group needs its own headline, use the testing tier in the pricing section above. That tier includes the URL-parameter headline and the manual test.

### When the click and the order should share one record

[ElasticFunnels](https://elasticfunnels.io/) is a funnel platform for teams that run paid traffic. It builds the pages, keeps a CRM and attribution on one data layer, and can host the checkout. Affiliates, product vendors, agencies and ecommerce brands use it. One part of that platform is the campaign link. Every plan can rotate variants on the server under one URL, so the ad keeps that destination. That link is one part of the platform. The checkout can add an order bump and a one-click upsell, and it can bill a subscription. It charges through Stripe, NMI, PayPal, Klarna or Authorize.net, and it can send the buyer on to ClickBank, JVZoo, BuyGoods, Digistore24, Shopify Checkout, Shop Pay or Cartpanda.

If you have two or more NMI merchant accounts, the first sale can be divided across them by weight. You can filter by card brand, product and amount, and you can cap each account for the day. The upsell and the rebill stay on the account that took the first sale. Stripe, PayPal, Klarna and Authorize.net each remain a single account, separate from that split.

[Starter costs $97 a month](https://elasticfunnels.io/pricing), Growth costs $197 and Scale costs $497\. The feature list does not change between Starter, Growth and Scale. What changes is the allowance for page views, brands, domains, team seats and automation runs. The trial runs 14 days and starts without a card. In those 14 days you can set up a page, a funnel and a domain. The 0.5% fee applies only to sales through the gateways named above.

Carrd and Leadpages remain the two names in the quick answer. ElasticFunnels fits when the ad must keep one destination and the order stays on the same record as the click. [ElasticFunnels vs Leadpages](/compare/elasticfunnels-vs-leadpages) compares those two. The [ElasticFunnels review](/reviews/elasticfunnels) covers the platform on its own.

ElasticFunnels is newer than the platforms it competes with, and there is very little independent third-party review coverage to check its claims against. Until you run real volume through it, you are largely taking the vendor's word for it. Work on it started in 2023, which is why those outside reviews are still scarce. Pages, the test, checkout and the CRM are included from Starter upward, and the orders you run are how you judge those claims.

### Where I would open the account

I would choose Leadpages on Grow if you are already buying traffic and want to test a headline or match a line to an ad group. The testing page linked above is where that server choice is described. I would stay on the publishing tier only when that page will not be tested.

Carrd Pro Standard fits a single presell that will not change, with the result tracked in the ad account. Move to another builder if the offer needs a second page. The [Carrd review](/reviews/carrd) covers that single-page limit in more detail. The [Leadpages review](/reviews/leadpages) covers those testing plans in more detail. [See the Leadpages plan breakdown](/reviews/leadpages/pricing) before you add a credit card to start the trial.

Our pick

### Leadpages

Leadpages is worth it if you send paid traffic to lead-gen pages and want split tests without a visitor cap. Grow, its first testing plan, runs server-side A/B tests and dynamic text replacement, and no plan meters traffic. Skip it if you only publish pages or sell your own offer with upsells: the publishing plans cannot test, and its ecommerce is basic. Heatmaps and Smart Traffic are on the Optimize plan, and the 7-day trial requires a card.

### Frequently asked questions

Can Carrd rotate two headlines under the ad's URL?

The side-by-side table marks Carrd without a test. Read the result in the ad account, or in the analytics that come with the yearly tier.

Which Carrd tier uses a domain I own?

The yearly tier in the bill section, the one that lists forms, widgets and embeds. The free account is the draft, capped at three published sites.

Which Leadpages tier runs the headline test?

The testing tier in that same bill section. The plan table leaves the test off the two publishing tiers under it.

What happens to a Carrd page that is mostly an affiliate button?

The content policy linked above can take that page offline. A page with your own argument is the one that policy leaves standing.

Do the two trials start the same way?

Carrd's trial in the bill section starts with no card. Leadpages collects a card and charges when that week ends, unless you cancel.
